Accessing The Server Off-Campus

UCSD Proxy Server

Certain UCSD resources, such as electronic journals may be accessed remotely. For instructions on setting up your Internet browser, please visit:

Be sure to add *.pediatrics.ucsd.edu as exceptions, as the UCSD Medical Center does not allow access by proxy server and Pediatrics department servers on this network.

Virtual Private Network (VPN) access

UCSD Medical Center and more restricted resources are available through the UCSD VPN client. Please see the documentation here:

RADY CHILDREN’S SITE ACCESS:

VPN access
Usernames and Passwords are issued by Rady Children’s Hospital staff. Please submit a Help Request to obtain the required software.

Meditech
Usernames and Passwords are issued by Rady Children’s Hospital staff. Please submit a Help Request to obtain the required software.

Chartmaxx via web
Usernames and Passwords are issued by Rady Children’s Hospital staff. Please submit a Help Request to obtain the required software. After verifying your system access has been completed, Department of Pediatrics IT will provide instructions for installation of the required software for off site use or provide installation on supported onsite systems.  

Network Connectivity

Department of Pediatrics IT will coordinate registration of the device with ACT or Rady Children’s Hospital, if required.

For UCSD Campus machines, if a jack installation or activation is required, an ACT CSR will be needed. Please use this form:

Network Shares/Print Queue Access

Department of Pediatrics Network folders and printers are granted access by request of the resource owner and/or supervisor. These requests should be submitted through the Help Desk.

Payroll/Personnel System (PPS)

To obtain PPS access, please see the Department Security Administrator (DSA):

After obtaining training and access credentials, please submit a service request to have the software installed and configured, if necessary.
